Mha Puja observed in London LONDON: Pasa Puchah Guthi UK(PPG-UK) organized Mha Puja and Nepal Sambat new year 1131 at Oakington Primary School, Wembley on Saturday (November 6).

The event, which marked the 10th anniversary of the only Newa ethnic and cultural community in the UK, was inaugurated by Nepal’s human rights activist Padma Ratna Tuladhar. The function was also attended by
Prof David Gellner, advisor of the Guthi, among other presidents of Guthi branches and around 400 guests from all England.

The event featured various cultural and traditional dances representing Newa culture and concluded with an authentic lapatay bhwaye, where food is served to the guests, one item after another, on the leaf-plate (lapatay).

Mha Puja observed in LondonTuladhar, as the chief guest of the event, described the richness of Newa culture and heritage and emphasized on the need to preserve the culture and Nepalbhasa in the

foreign land.

Similarly, Pasa Puchah Guthi’s south east London branch also organized an event to mark the occasion. The event was organised at Ram Gariya Community Hall in Woolwich in Plumstead on November 6.
