Final tributes paid to late Gurkha Hero VC GurungLONDON: Final tributes were paid to Gurkha VC Lachhiman Gurung at Hounslow Civic Centre in London on Wednesday (December 22).

Various personalities of different walks of life were present there to pay respect to the war Hero. The programme began at 8.00 hours in the morning and lasted day long. Buddhist funeral prayers were chanted as the funeral programme was organized as per the Buddhist tradition.

Final tributes paid to late Gurkha Hero VC GurungColin Ellar Mayor, Councillor of London Borough o Hounslow, Nepalese Ambassador to Nepal Dr Suresh Chandra Chalise, CBE Colonel of Brigade of Gurkhas DG Hays, among other persons were present at the obituary function.

Mr Gurung, who had lived in Hounslow since September 2008, was awarded the UK's highest military honour for his incredible bravery during the Second World War.
