As a success note for the visit Nepal campaigners, Nepal saw a considerable increment in the number of tourists coming to the country in the first 11 months of 2011. The Himalayan nation is observing this year as the tourism year.
A total of 512, 264 international tourists visited the country in this period, which is an increase of 21.5 per cent than that of the same period last year.
“This is the highest figure so far,” read a press statement released by Nepal Tourism Board. A total of 58,156 tourists entered Nepal in the month of November alone.
Those visiting from South Asian region has also gone up tremendously, it adds.
While China dominates the figure, more people from Netherlands, Switzerland, US, Canada, Australia and New Zealand also came to the country which is popular for its natural panoramic beauty and enchanting mountains, including the world’s highest peak of Everest.
