Visit Lumbini Year promoted in Paris

LONDON: Embassy of Nepal in Paris, France, organised a programme to mark the Visit Lumbini Year 2012in Paris recently.
In the inaugural programme, a candle was lit in front of Lord Buddha’s statue by Mohan Krishna Shrestha, ambassador of Nepal to France. Leaders of Nepali Diaspora, diplomats and other locals participated the function organized on January 27, 2012.
Shedding lights on the government’s decision of observing the year, ambassador Shrestha briefed on Lord Buddha’s teaching on peace. He also appealed the guests to preach and practice the teachings of Buddha and visit Lumbini to achieve peace of mind.
