LONDON: Claiming himself to be the world’s shortest man, a septuagenarian of Purandhara VDC of Dang district has made public himself in Jhapa in the eastern Nepal recently.
Measuring just 22 inches with 12 kilograms in weight, Chandra Bahadur Dangi, 72, stood at a news conference in Birtamode of Jhapa district, claiming the ‘title’ which was once grabbed by his fellow countryman Khagendra Thapa Magar, according to reports.
Chandra Bahadur is the fourth son, among six, of Belaram and Pingla Dangi.
He claimed that he was not noticed for living in the remotest region of the district and having no access to communication.
Chandra Bahadur was invited as a special guest at a religious programme in Maidhara of Jhapa district, where he chose to use the platform to publicize himself, said state-owned RSS. Chandra Bahadur has urged the officials and authorities concerned for support to write his name in the Guinness Book of World Records as the world´s shortest man.
Measuring just 23.5 inches, Junrey Balawing born in Sindangan on the Philippines´ southern island of Mindanao is the world´s shortest man.
