Euro-Nepali Dance contest in April

LONDON: Encouraged by the massive success and huge popularity of last year, organizers of Euro Single Nepali Dance Competition said they are holding similar contest at the beautiful city of Paris in France this year as well.

The main organizer: Nepali Unity Society, France said the event which is slated for April 15, 2012, will also be coordinated by International Artistes Forum Europe chapter and its subordinate bodies of various countries in Europe. The programme coincides with the Nepali New Year 2069 BS.

“The competition not only showcases and promotes Nepali culture and arts, but it also makes public the talents of Nepali dancers through such international platform,” said Nita Shrestha, chairperson of the forum. She believes that such competition helps preserve the Nepali culture which is on the verge of extinction, especially among the new and young generation of the Nepali Diaspora.

The organizer hopes various organizations in the Netherlands, Belgium, Luxemburg, Germany, England, Italy, Spain and Portugal will participate at the contest.

The event coordinator Pushpa Baruwal said the event itself is a success as it is including all the artistes from across the Europe. According to him, Mithila Sharma, Pradip Bamjan and Ram Prasad Khanal will be invited as special guests at the event.

The troupe from England is participating for the first time in the competition.

It will be great for us to know the contact persons address or the link through which we can participate in this auspicious occasion. There are many people from Denmark also would like to participate in this event.
