    Portable Applications!!!! have you been using it

    Hi, have you people been using portable applications. Portable applications dont need to be installed in your pc. They comes in compressed versions, what you have to do is just uncompress it and double click to use it. Best options is to have it on your usb flash drive and carry around, just plug it in any pc and double click to use it. NO INSTALLATION NECESSARY

    GIMP Portable - Photo and Image Editor
    Mozilla Firefox - Internet Browser
    Mozilla Thunderbird - Email Client like Outlook Express
    VLC Media Player - An easy to use media player that plays most audio and video formats
    OpenOffice - word processor, spreadsheet, presentations with Microsoft compatibility
    Foxit Reader - PDF viewer like Acrobat Reader
    7-Zip- File archiver and compressor like winzip/winrar
    InfraRecorder - full-featured CD and DVD burner
    XAMPP - Apache, mySQL, PHP, phpMyAdmin
    IrfanView - image viewer
    WinSCP - FTP client
    Dreamweaver 8.0 - Website Editing
    Windows Live Messenger
    Yahoo Messenger
    EasyCleaner - Registry Cleaner
    USB Webserver - Easy to use web server that integrates Apache, MySQL and PHP, including PHPMyAdmin

    I take it you have some distribution of Linux under that? Or your using your USB stick with a Linux enabled system.

    i have used distro named backtrack a linux version of slackware from usb. Its not that vast as ubuntu/redhat but if you are network guy then do try it. Majority of network penetrate testing tools comes with this distro.
    download backtrack

    Yes, I've used Backtrack before, it's got loads of tools on there. I've used it for network analysis. It's good for understanding Wireless Networks too.
