Hi Raju dai
My student visa expired january, 2010. so i applied for visa extension on that month.  At the same time, my husband also applied for switching into dependent visa for the first time along with my application on january .My husband is also a student whose visa expires on April 2010.  I got my visa extension but my husband's application has been refused. Home office refused telling that my husband has student visa upto April 2010. It is written in the letter that we can't appeal for this decision.

So dai, can my husband apply for dependent visa on april or not because his visa expires on april 2010? pl dai can u help me and how much fund is to be shown for dependent? and whose bank a/c--mine or my husband? and what are the documents needed to be sent? pl help me. thx

Dear Jasmine,

I need to have a sight of the refusal letter as the cause of the refusal needs to be considered before any response.

Second, I need to know where did you get marry, whether you obtained certificate of Approval (COP) prior to the marriage, if married abroad, whether disclosed in your student visa application earlier.

all these issues are to be explored. You can call me on the number given for free 30 minutes advice session for face to face advice.

I hope your matter will be resolved upon taking immediate remedial steps.

regards

Hae Jasmine

I am not 100 % sure. But I have seen in home office website for the common reason for visa refusal that if you are in student visa you cannot switch to dependent visa unless you finish of your course and same with you cant switch to student visa from other category apart from Tier 1 Post study work. I think they meant you have to go back home and re apply for dependent visa from home country. Please correct me if I am wrong.

Cheers
